GAME, SET AND MATCH!- WAWRINKA 4-6 6-3 4-6 1-6 MEDVEDEV. Stan Wawrinka's dream of a career Grand Slam is over for another year as he is stunned in the shock of the day by Russian starlet Daniil Medvedev. The 21-year-old wasted two MPs before sealing the biggest win of his career on the third in two hours and 12 minutes. Not a bad way to mark your Wimbledon debut! Wawrinka was a pale shadow of the man who reached the French Open final last month and was clearly struggling with a knee injury.
BREAK! - WAWRINKA 4-6 6-3 4-6 1-5 MEDVEDEV. Stan is done. It's another break and curtains for the No.5 seed.
WAWRINKA 4-6 6-3 4-6 1-4 MEDVEDEV. The big Russian consolidates the break and is two games away from dumping Wawrinka out of the tournament!
BREAK! - WAWRINKA 4-6 6-3 4-6 1-3 MEDVEDEV. The alarm bells were ringing - now they are screaming in Stan's ears. After three holds to start set 4, Medvedev breaks to put the No.5 seed in all sorts of trouble.
SET! - WAWRINKA 4-6 6-3 4-6 MEDVEDEV. Wow! Wawrinka up against it bigtime! The Swiss is misfiring all of the show as 40-30 turns into set point from deuce. He hooks that trademark backhand horrible wide into the right-hand alley he's facing and Medvedev is now 2-1 up. The No.5 seed is in trouble.
WAWRINKA 4-6 6-3 4-5 MEDVEDEV. Wawrinka clearly struggling with the knee problem and some of his strokes have been nothing short of wild. He's far from happy but he's refusing to give up in the hope of seeing this out. Medvedev takes it to 15 to apply scoreboard pressure at the business-end of the set.
WAWRINKA 4-6 6-3 2-3 MEDVEDEV. The Russian eases to another hold and is happy to get to the chair and receive more treatment to his knee.
WAWRINKA 4-6 6-3 2-2 MEDVEDEV. Two holds apiece to start the third set, but my word Stan is made to battle for that second one. Medvedev has three BPs in an epic game but the Swiss wriggles out of trouble to pull level. It may well go down as a key game in the outcome of this encounter.
SET! - WAWRINKA 4-6 6-3 MEDVEDEV. A wounded Stanimal is a dangerous one. The Swiss immediately grabs back his break advantage and wastes little time serving it out to level the match at 1-1.
BREAK! - WAWRINKA 4-6 4-3 MEDVEDEV. Hold the phone! Medvedev is back in this set! The Russian starlet breaks back to 30. Stan is clearly not enjoying this so far.
WAWRINKA 4-6 4-2 MEDVEDEV. A love hold for Medvedev but Stan remains in the driving seat in Set 2.
WAWRINKA 4-6 3-1 MEDVEDEV. Daniil halts the Wawrinka Juggernaut to get on the board and remain on e break behind.
WAWRINKA 4-6 3-0 MEDVEDEV. The fifth seed consolidates to love. This looks like a very different match all of a sudden.
BREAK! - WAWRINKA 4-6 2-0 MEDVEDEV. A roar of 'Come on!' from Stan as he follows up his early hold with a much-needed break to start the second set in the ascendancy.
SET! - WAWRINKA 4-6 MEDVEDEV. Shock on? The Russian serves out on his third set point to take the opener in 38 minutes.
WAWRINKA 2-4 MEDVEDEV. The three-time Grand Slam champion tries to make it tough for the youngster, but he keeps it together to consolidate to 30.
BREAK! - WAWRINKA 2-3 MEDVEDEV. A real lull from Stan and Medvedev pulls off the first break!
WAWRINKA 2-2 MEDVEDEV. Still with serve after Wawrinka went close to a break in game 2. The Swiss is known to struggle on grass and lost in the first round at Queens. Will 21-year-old rising Russian star, Medvedev lift his game for the big stage and have the firepower to get under Stanimal's skin?
WAWRINKA 1-0 MEDVEDEV. A quick-fire hold from Stan to get the contest up and running.
Fifth seed Stan Wawrinka is now warming up on Centre Court ahead of his match with Russia's Daniil Medvedev.
