Stephen Maguire was stunned in the second round of the Asian Players Tour Championship event, suffering a heavy defeat to Cao Kaisheng in China.
The world number four was trounced 4-0 by the Chinese cueman during the evening session in Zhangjiagang on a day when local players largely had the upper hand.
Matthew Selt was another to be bounced out of the competition, losing 4-2 to Lu Ning, while Marcus Campbell fell to Zhang Yang by the same scoreline.
Ding safely through in China Peter Ebdon, the world number 20, was also sent packing, 4-3 by Xu Xinjian, while Ben Judge and Mark King also lost.
There was, however, some joy for visiting players, with world number three
