England's Ali Carter has vowed to return to snooker after finishing his chemotherapy treatment for lung cancer.

Carter was diagnosed with lung cancer in May having overcome testicular cancer.

He already battles against Crohn's disease, but says he is feeling ready to return to the sport.

Carter - only 35 and the winner of last year's German Masters - has twice reached the World Championship final, losing in 2008 and 2012 to Ronnie O'Sullivan.

"I have now finished my chemotherapy and things are really positive," he said.

"I'm feeling much better and it won't be long till I'm back playing again."
