Most hacked Premier League passwords revealed
Thought you were being sneaky by using your favourite football team as your password online? Think again…
Liverpool fans are most guilty of using their beloved side to protect their sensitive accounts, according to analysis by the UK’s National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC).
An astonishing 280,723 people had ‘liverpool’ in their password, while 216,677 were guilty of using ‘chelsea’.
But don’t feel too daft, football fans. Take heart from the 23 million people who decided to protect their personal data with the password ‘123456’. Wow.
LeBuzz admits to being a fan of the ‘favourite player + shirt number’ combination, but maybe it’s time to accept it’s time for a security boost…
The NCSC looked at public databases of breached accounts to see what passwords regularly cropped up.
