Well, it was a grandstand finish at Wembley, but Liverpool were by a long way the better of the two sides. Spurs were poor. This really could have been a mauling and Klopp will be concerned by how many chances his team passed up. But Liverpool have five wins from five and that's all that matters in the end.

- End of 2nd Half
FULL TIME: Spurs 1-2 Liverpool
Here we go... Spurs have a freekick in the Liverpool half. But the delivery is cleared by the Liverpool defence. They were looking for Kane at the back post, but the away side did well.
- GoalErik LamelaTottenham Hotspur
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Spurs 1 (93 mins - Erik Lamela) Liverpool 2. A nervy finish for Liverpool? They allowed a corner kick to bounce all the way to the back post, where Lamela took it on his chest and fired a low volley into the corner of the net. Spurs have given themselves a chance here! Is it too late?
This result means Liverpool will have five wins from five to start the Premier League season, and this will be the most impressive of those five wins. They have put down a marker.
MANE OFFSIDE! Another chance for the Liverpool winger. Spurs give the ball away deep inside their own half, allowing Sturridge to thread through Mane. He is offside, though.
Five minutes of stoppage time to be played at the end of the match.
- OffTrent Alexander-ArnoldLiverpool
- OnJoel MatipLiverpool
One final change for Liverpool, with Matip coming on for Alexander-Arnold.
Milner has been excellent for Liverpool. Van Dijk and Mane have also been great, but Milner is the man who makes this Liverpool team tick. He doesn't get the credit he deserves.
There hasn't been a single yellow card shown in this match so far. It has been quite a clean game. Pochettino said after the Watford game that his side didn't show enough aggression. Same problem here?
LOOPING HEADER! That was a half chance for Kane. The cross was a difficult one for him to generate any sort of power from, but his looping header to the far post is saved by Alisson.
LAMELA WIDE! That was the chance for Spurs to at least mount some sort of late fightback. Lamela drove at the Liverpool defence, but skews his low shot wide of the target.
SALAH... SELFISH! The Egyptian winger probably should have played the pass across to Sturridge. But Salah takes the shot on himself and the block is made, allowing Vorm to gather.
- OffEric DierTottenham Hotspur
- OnVictor WanyamaTottenham Hotspur
Here comes Wanyama for Spurs as well. Can he make any sort of impact?
- OffNaby KeitaLiverpool
- OnDaniel SturridgeLiverpool
Another change for Liverpool and it's Sturridge who comes on for the final 10 minutes.
ANOTHER MANE CHANCE! This really could have been a mauling. This time Keita plays the ball back to Mane, but the Liverpool winger scuffs his shot straight at Vorm. Chance.
This game has lost its way in the last 10 minutes or so. Liverpool are just sitting back and plugging the gaps, passing the ball around the midfield when they need to. Game over?
Is there a way back into this game for Spurs? One goal could change the dynamic of the contest, but time is running out for them. They need a foothold soon. Liverpool are cruising.
There was some real positivity around Spurs after that impressive away result to Manchester United. But that positivity has disppeared with their performances in the next two games.
So what happened there was Firmino went down injured with an eye injury just as Klopp wanted to change Keita for Henderson. He then changed that to Henderson for Firmino.
- OffRoberto FirminoLiverpool
- OnJordan HendersonLiverpool
And now Liverpool finally make their change, with Henderson on for the injured Firmino.
- OffHarry WinksTottenham Hotspur
- OnHeung-Min SonTottenham Hotspur
Spurs make a change while Klopp is arguing with the officials. On comes Son.
Liverpool are trying to make a change here. However, there's some confusion on the touchline. Klopp is talking to the referee. Does he want to change the sub he's making?
Break in the play at the moment as Firmino gets checked out. The Brazilian forward has hit the floor after taking a hand to the face. He looks like he'll be fine to continue.
CHANCE FOR KANE! That was a difficult one for the Spurs strike, but it was a chance nonetheless. Eriksen's cross was just behind him and Kane could only flick towards goal.
This could have been a mauling for Spurs. They have looked so vulnerable at the back. If Liverpool were at their best, this would surely be four, five, six... worrying for the home side.
Liverpool haven't even played that well this afternoon, but they have had no trouble in swatting away Spurs up until this point. That's illustrative of the gulf opening up between these sides.
SHOULD HAVE BEEN THREE! Once again, Mane is given so much time and space to drive at the Spurs defence. He waits and rolls the ball to Keita, whose shot is saved by Vorm.
What a challenge that was from Gomez. Lucas looked to have been played down the left wing, but the Liverpool centre back came across at pace to make the sliding tackle.
- OffMousa DembéléTottenham Hotspur
- OnErik LamelaTottenham Hotspur
The first change of the match is for Spurs and it's Lamela who comes on.
TOO CLOSE TO THE KEEPER! That was a chance for Trippier to get a cross into Kane, who had made a run to the near post. But the delivery was too close to Alisson.
Spurs only have themselves to blame in the way they have allowed Liverpool to attack them, but Vorm has also been extremely poor. The Dutch goalkeeper has been at fault, in some way, for both goals.
Is that effectively game over for Spurs? They had that chance through Lucas, but Liverpool have now doubled their advantage and there's no suggestion they'll stop at two goals.
- GoalRoberto FirminoLiverpool
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Spurs 0 Liverpool 2 (54 mins - Roberto Firmino). There's the second goal for Liverpool! Mane causes mayhem by driving into the box. His cross is deflected on to the post by Vertonghen and Firmino is on hand to finish into the empty net from close range!
Liverpool are now trying to regain control of the match in the midfield. Spurs have looked bit more open in the final third at the start of the second half. The Reds are calming things down.
Will that last chance get Spurs going? They have struggled to create much in the final third so far, but Lucas has looked the most likely to find the back of the Liverpool net.
OFF THE BASE OF THE POST! That's the closest Spurs have come to an equaliser! Lucas drives at the Liverpool defence, beats three and gets a low shot away, but it smashes off the base of the near post!
BIG CHANCE, BIG SAVE! That perhaps should have been Liverpool's second goal! Mane takes a pass into feet, swivels and gets a powerful shot away from inside the box. Vorm makes the strong diving save!
OFF THE CROSSBAR! That was very nearly a second goal for Liverpool, with Robertson's cross glancing off to the top of the crossbar. Vorm was nowhere near it!
MISTAKE FROM GOMEZ! The Liverpool centre back gives up the ball in his own half, allowing Lucas to bear down on goal. But Van Dijk gets back and makes an excellent recovery tackle.
No changes made by either side at the half time break, but will Pochettino have altered his side's approach for the second half? Spurs were really quite poor in the first half.
- 2nd Half
The second half is under way! Liverpool have a 1-0 lead over Spurs.

- End of 1st Half
HALF TIME: Spurs 0-1 Liverpool. There can be few complaints over the scoreline at the break. Liverpool have been the better team. Spurs have made on too many mistakes. Not good enough from the hosts.
WIJNALDUM... WIDE! Liverpool looked to have a three-on two situation there as they broke forward. Wijnaldum held on to it a little too long, though, and in the end fires wide of the far post.
The thing is that Liverpool haven't even played that well. They have lacked the final ball so many times, but they have been given so many opportunities they had to take one of them.
Spurs now just need to get to the half time break with the scoreline at 1-0. They haven't looked very strong at the back in this first half and now Liverpool are pressing for a second.
That goal had been coming. Liverpool have looked dangerous in the final third, but few would have predicted that their opener would come from a messy corner kick like that.
- GoalGeorginio WijnaldumLiverpool
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Spurs 0 Liverpool 1 (39 mins - Georginio Wijnaldum). Liverpool have the lead and it has come from a bit of a mess from Vorm! The Spurs goalkeeper flapped at a corner, giving Wijnaldum the chance to head home on the rebound. The goalline technology showed that it crossed the line!
TWO CHANCES FOR MANE! First, Mane's cross into the box is cut out. Then a poor header by Eriksen gives him the ball straight back and the danger is cleared for a corner kick.
Was Vertonghen going for goal there? It looked like he attempted a shot from about 40 yards out when he had both Kane and Lucas ahead of him. Pochettino won't be happy with that.
MANE GOES HIMSELF! The Liverpool winger drives and drives and drives into the Spurs box, then takes the left-footed shot. But it's tame and Vorm can make the simple save!
What play that was from Dembele, who brushed past two Liverpool players before playing Lucas down the line. The Belgian is such a dynamic player for Spurs. And they were going to sell him!
This defensive system from Spurs has been really interesting to watch in this first half. Sometimes they are in a back three and other times it's a back four. Not sure it's working.
This is where Liverpool's improvement at the back will be tested. Spurs can cause damage, so how will Klopp's backline cope? A clean sheet here for them would be massive.
So much better from Spurs in these past few minutes! They have finally taken a grip of the game and are making progress in the final third. Liverpool are being pegged back.
ERIKSEN STRAIGHT AT ALISSON! Spurs win a freekick right on the edge of the Liverpool box. Eriksen takes it and whips his shot towards the far corner, but Alisson makes the save.
ERIKSEN WAS IN BEHIND! A fantastic touch from Trippier allows the Danish playmaker to get in behind the Liverpool backline. But his cut back is read and cleared for a corner.
KANE BULLDOZING! Some lovely juggling from Lucas on the edge of the Liverpool box presents the ball to Kane, who tries to force his way through the opposition defence. But the danger is cleared!
It just feels like Liverpool are one pass away from breaking open this Spurs defence. They have had a few opportunities and Spurs have just about got away with a couple mistakes.
GREAT DEFENDING! Once again, Firmino is played through and looks to have the run on the Spurs defence. But Alderweireld makes the challenge just as the Brazilian is about to shoot!
That mistake there was reflective of how Spurs have played in these opening 25 minutes. They have looked somewhat nervous with the ball at their feet.
SALAH WAS IN! It was a mistake from Dier that allowed the Liverpool winger to run through on goal. He busts into the box, but his shot is saved by Vorm. Salah mighthave done better with that.
Salah finally gets some time and space on the ball about 30 yards out. He tries to play a quick pass through to Keita, who had made a run into the box. But Spurs manage to cut it out.
It's notable that Alisson has played it safe so far in these opening 20 minutes. Of course, the Liverpool goalkeeper made a bit of a howler against Leicester City before the international break.
Firmino and Mane have been involved in the game in these opening 20 minutes or so, but we haven't seen much of Salah so far. The Egyptian will make his mark on this match.
It's been a lively start to the game at Wembley, but chances, besides the couple opportunities for Firmino early on, have been few and far between up until this point.
Trippier is being pushed forward so far that Mane has so much space every time Liverpool win the ball. How much longer can Spurs afford to give the winger that opportunity?
The game plan from Spurs seem to be to play the ball long from the back and then get runners from midfield up to support. But the Liverpool defence are dealing with the ploy.
The home crowd are just starting to get a little bit restless. Spurs have weathered the early storm from Liverpool, but they are stil failing to create much going forward.
Van Dijk hits the ground after taking an arm to the face from Lucas. There was nothing malicious in the challenge from the Brazilian winger, though. They were both going for the ball.
ALDERWEIRELD... OFFSIDE! Fantastic freekick delivery from Trippier finds the run of Alderweireld, who heads over. But the flag was up on the near side for offside against the Belgian.
So Spurs started in a back four, then they went to a back three, and now they look to have gone back to a back four again. Liverpool are forcing them into these changes!
STRAIGHT AT VORM! Mane wins a freekick about 20 yards out from goal. Alexander-Arnold takes it, but shoots straight at Vorm in the Spurs goal. Not the worst effort from the full back.
Spurs are really struggling with Liverpool's movement in the final third. The home defence are being caught up the pitch and that's giving Firmino and Mane so much space to gallop into.
Just looking at the offside goal again, that was a close one. The final touch came off Firmino, who was onside. Mane was offside, but didn't touch the ball. He did play for it, though.
FIRMINO IS IN AGAIN! Liverpool have made a lightning start here! Milner played through Firmino, who tried to shoot at the near post, but had his effort blocked for a corner kick.
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO... NO! Wow, what a start that would have been for Liverpool! Firmino and Mane thought they had turned in a cross between them, but the flag was up!
- 1st Half
The match is under way! It's Spurs against Liverpool in the Premier League!
Here we go. Kick off just seconds away!
The two teams are out on the pitch now. They walked out to the tune from the Phantom Menace. Why do Spurs do that?
It's back after the international break! It's Spurs against Liverpool and this should be a good one!
The two sets of players are in the tunnel and ready to walk out at Wembley!
Who do you fancy to win this one? Liverpool have a 100% record in the four games they have played so far, but Spurs turned in one of the performances of the season away to Man Utd.
Last time out Spurs managed to let a one-goal lead slip against Watford. On the other hand, Liverpool still have their 100% record at the top of the Premier League after four games.
Crunch match! Both these teams want to challenge for the Premier League title this season, particularly in the case of Liverpool. And so this could be a big moment in the title race.
This will be a big day for Keita. The summer signing has enjoyed a great start for Liverpool, but he'll be up against Dembele and Winks this afternoon. That's a real midfield battle.
Some stats have been flying around concerning Kane's form recently. Klopp isn't paying much attention, though.
No Hendo! Keita is picked ahead of Henderson to play in the centre of the Liverpool midfield. Other than that, Liverpool line up as you would expect. They are looking strong.
Flat back four! Looks like Pochettino has ditched the three at the back for this game and has instead opted for a 4-3-3 formation. This is the first time we have seen this from Spurs this season.
