66'
65'
Newcastle United

RED CARD! After some deliberating, the referee has sent Mitrovic off! After watching a replay, that really is a dangerous tackle and he deserves to go.

A slight concern for Spurs - and England - as Walker is down injured after a late tackle by Mitrovic.

63'
Tottenham Hotspur

SAVE! This is more like Spurs - Onomah collects the ball in a wide position, he cuts in and shoots but Darlow does well to make the save.

CHANCE! Davies is unleashed down the flank, he cuts the ball back to Lamela but his shot is blocked and Darlow collects.

57'
Tottenham Hotspur

Arsenal fans are having a right laugh on Twitter at the moment.

56'
Tottenham Hotspur

Up steps Eriksen... but the free-kick is blocked by the face of Mitrovic. He's been everywhere today, hasn't he?

55'
Tottenham Hotspur

Tiote takes one for the team as he drags down Kane from behind and Spurs have a free-kick in a dangerous area now.

54'
Tottenham Hotspur

The cross is delivered into the penalty area, Darlow is in no man's land but his blushes are spared as a defender heads clear the danger.

53'
Tottenham Hotspur

CHANCE! Better from Spurs as they work the ball to Dier on the edge of the area but his shot is blocked. The visitors have a corner.

52'
Tottenham Hotspur

Eriksen, so used to pulling the strings for Spurs, has been largely anonymous today.

51'
Newcastle United

STAT! Aleksandar Mitrovic scores and provides an assist in the same PL match for the second time, after the 2-1 win at Spurs on 13 December.

50'

GOAL! Newcastle 2-0 Tottenham - The hosts double their lead and surely there is no way back for Spurs now. Townsend has time and space to pick out Mitrovic who is left unmarked to head the ball past Lloris. Awful, dreadful defending.

31'
Tottenham Hotspur

Kane has been fairly anonymous so far and he has picked up a wide position at the moment in a bid to have more of an influence. He does well to keep possession for his side but again an attacking move fails to materialise as Alderweireld shoots straight at Darlow from distance.

30'

Social media is already going into meltdown.

29'
Tottenham Hotspur

Another Spurs attack collapses as Dier overhits his cross. The visiting fans look worried and any wonder.

27'

Really disappointing so far from Spurs. The look of frustration on Kane's face tells the story on its own as he is caught offside.

26'
Newcastle United

STAT! Georginio Wijnaldum has his first goal in 16 PL games after bagging nine in the previous 22.

25'

Just a reminder, a win for Spurs today will give them their highest Premier League points haul. Pochettino is determined to grab the three points.

“It’s important to try to win the last game, to keep second place and we will then be able to look back and recognise it was a fantastic season," he said.

“It’s difficult to know what will happen. You always feel sorry when people suffer, in this case Newcastle supporters, players and staff. It’s always a tough and a difficult moment.

“We will show respect to the people and the players of Newcastle, they deserve our respect, it’s a tough moment for them but it’s an important game for us."

Keeping a hold of boss Rafa Benitez is undoubtedly a key factor if Newcastle are to make an immediate return to Premier League football next season. So will he stay?

"When I decided to come here it was because I knew it was a massive club with massive support from the fans," he said.

"I am really flattered with the fans, they have been amazing but at the moment we have to make sure we prepare properly for tomorrow's game and try to do the best for everyone.

"I am a professional and what you hope for as a professional is respect and people to appreciate your job and here it has been fantastic.

"(The fans) are the reason why I am sat here and why I am positive and keeping an open mind about the future."
