It seems a suitable time to highlight the job Ronald Koeman has done after losing £92 million worth of talent last summer. They lie seventh in the table and have conceded just 31 goals, the joint lowest in the league this season along with Chelsea.
Victory would see City complete a league double against Southampton for the first time since the 1992-93 campaign. And they have won their last four games over the Saints in all competitions.
City will be without Samir Nasri and Fernando due to injury. A lot of uncertainty around the club this summer, will this be Manuel Pellegrini's last game in charge?
We should have goals today as City are the only team not to draw 0-0 this season and will finish the campaign as the top scorers.
The Saints will be without Dusan Tadic (groin), Morgan Schneiderlin (knee) and Fraser Forster (also knee) for the final game while Jay Rodriguez is also missing as striker continues to recover from a knee ligament injury.
If Southampton better Tottenham's result at Everton, they will seal a place in next season's Europa League. But if Arsenal win the FA Cup next weekend that would mean seventh place also enters the competition.
Could this be the final time we see Yaya Toure and James Milner in a Manchester City shirt? The pair have been linked wih a move away with manager Manuel Pellegrini saying a decision will be made on both players' future this summer.
Lampard will skipper the home side to mark his final game. Eliaquim Mangala and Martin Demichelis both start, the pair still boast an unbeaten Premier League partnership.
