Cristiano Ronaldo wants Gareth Bale dropped from Real Madrid side - report
Cristiano Ronaldo wants Gareth Bale to be dropped from the Real Madrid side, according to a report in Spain.
The Portuguese star believes his Welsh team-mate should not be guaranteed a starting place following his problems with form and fitness.
The 28-year-old became an integral player for Los Blancos following his move from Tottenham in 2013 but in recent months has come under pressure from Isco and Marco Asensio for his place in the team.
Isco replaced Bale during his comebacks from ankle and calf injuries last season, putting in some excellent displays, while Asensio scored in the Champions League final and notched two goals in the recent Liga draw against Valencia.

The report also insists that Ronaldo wants Zidane to consider omitting Frenchman Karim Benzema, which would further break up the ‘BBC’ attacking trident.
This report has pretty thin foundations. It cites no source and is simply joining the dots between the recent exploits of Isco and Asensio in comparison with the under-par performances of Bale.
The speculation over the summer that Manchester United wanted to prise the Welshman away from the Bernabeu gives the story a bit more credence, however it is far more likely that Bale will be dropped by Zidane for form and fitness reasons, plus the competition from his peers, rather than the rumoured wishes of Ronaldo.
Many fans are already calling for Bale and Benzema to be left on the bench, so it would not be a shock.
