FT: Galatasaray 0-1 Real Madrid. It's a big win for Zidane and his team were good value for it, although the hosts will rue a couple of missed chances. Kroos' goal on his 100th Champions League appearance is the difference, while Rodrygo made an impressive full debut.

- Yellow cardToni KroosReal Madrid
Kroos is booked for a cynical foul after losing possession.
There will be four added minutes.
Real doing all they can to take the sting out of the game.
Real Madrid survive back-to-back corners as they win a free-kick from the second. It shouldn't have been a corner, hence the dubious free-kick.
Galatasaray recycle the ball from a corner, Bayram crosses and Nzonzi glances a header over from six yards out. He should've done better.
Andone is furious not to get a corner after a wayward shot that didn't take a deflection. Maybe he doesn't believe he was capable of such a bad effort.
- OffRodrygoReal Madrid
- OnLuka JovicReal Madrid
Jovic replaces Rodrygo, who has been solid.
Rodrygo goes down off the ball. It looks like cramp and the hosts are playing on.
Elsewhere in the group, PSG lead Club Brugge 4-0.
- OffFederico ValverdeReal Madrid
- OnJames RodríguezReal Madrid
Valverde also makes way, with Rodriguez his replacement.
- OffEden HazardReal Madrid
- OnVinícius JúniorReal Madrid
Here we go - Hazard, who has been good but not great, is replaced by Vinicius.
- OffJean Michaël SeriGalatasaray
- OnEmre MorGalatasaray
Galatasaray's last change sees Mor come on for Seri. That's an attacking move. Zidane is yet to turn to his bench.
Benzema drafts to the left, gets the ball, drives towards the box, gives the ball to Marcelo, gets it back and shoots. Muslera saves again.
Frustrated after overrunning the ball, Carvajal whacks it into the advertising screens and it bouces back into Nagatomo, who doesn't make anything of it. Oops.
- Yellow cardSteven N'ZonziGalatasaray
Nzonzi catches Casemiro as they vie for a loose ball and that will be a yellow card.
- OffYounès BelhandaGalatasaray
- OnÖmer BayramGalatasaray
Belhanda is far from happy as Bayram replaces him, mouthing off towards the home supporters.
So close, but what a miss! Benzema sees Hazard's run and puts him one-on-one with the goalkeeper. Hazard takes it round Muslera but then, with the goal gaping, smashing the ball against the crossbar.
Prepare to hear this comparison a lot in the coming months.
Seri, already booked, foolishly jumps into Kroos.
Rodrygo beats three Galatasaray defenders, although Real's attack comes to nothing.
Hazard plays a one-two with Benzema before shooting from a tight angle, but Muslera beats the ball away.
Kroos steals the ball off Nzonzi, gives in Benzema and chargers forward. Benzema returns the ball to Kroos, who enters the box before stumbling, but Real look really dangerous on the break.
Rodrygo bursts past a defender and into the box, hits the byline and cuts the ball back, but there are no white shirts there to finish.
Real Madrid break with lightening speed and Kroos plays through Benzema. He doesn't quite have the pace to hold off Luyindama, who jostles with Benzema as he enters the box, and Benzema can only shoot in the general vicinity of the goalkeeper due to the pressure.
Kroos clears Nagatomo's cross from the left. The hosts have started this half fairly well.
It is indeed four at the back for Galatasaray. Feghouli is playing on the right of midfield.
- Yellow cardJean Michaël SeriGalatasaray
Seri collects the game's first card for a late challenge on Casemiro.
- OffRyan DonkGalatasaray
- OnSofiane FeghouliGalatasaray
We're back underway, with Feghouli coming on for Donk. You would imagine that means the hosts have switched to a back four.
The other Madrid team won their Champions League game earlier today, just about.
HT: Galatasaray 0-1 Real Madrid. The visitors lead at the end of a breathless first half, with Kroos' goal the difference. Real have been on top, but the home team have had their chances and the Spaniards probably need another goal or two here.
Luyindama makes a vital interception on the slide to stop Benzema being through on goal.
Just one added minute.
Benzema tries his luck from outside the box again but doesn't come as close this time.
Valverde finds Benzema with a first-time ball, stretching the defence. Benzema decides to take the shot on early and flashes an effort just inches over the bar. Muslera didn't move.
Babel skips past a naive Valverde, charges down the left and then cuts the ball back for an unmarked Belhanda, just behind the penalty spot. It's a great chance, yet he can only provide a tame effort , allowing Courtois to save.
The hosts create their first chance in a while as Andone lays the ball off to Babel and hopes for a return pass, but when it comes it is loopy and that allows Ramos to come across and head away. Nagatomo gets to the loose ball and prods it towards the six-yard box, where Marcelo is on hand to hack clear.
An impressive club to join.
Valverde becomes the latest Real player to have a go, shooting over when a pass would perhaps have been a better option, but the visitors are really dominating now.
Hazard cuts inside, holds of Luyindama and goes for goal - but shoots straight at Muslera.
You can see why so far. This has been high-octane football.
Rodrygo is involved again, this time clipping in a cross that Muslera claims.
Benzema and Rodrygo work a one-two, with Rodrygo shooting wide after he beat the offside trap, but the 18-year-old has been lively.
Seri skips past Ramos on the right and crosses low, but it's agonisingly out of reach for Belhanda.
That goal comes on Kroos' 100th appearance in the Champions League.
GOAL! Galatasaray 0-1 Real Madrid (Kroos). Hazard and Benzema playa a nice one-two and the former is presented with a great chance. He instead chooses to pass to Benzema and gets fortunate as his misplaced ball runs to Kroos, who dutifully sidefoots home.
It's been a breathless start and both teams look dangerous or vulnerable, depending how you want to frame it.
Madrid come again and this time Benzema does shoot, having been teed up my Valverde, but it's again straight at Muslera.
Real Madrid launch a counter-attack and Benzema unselfishly lays the ball off to Rodrygo, but the angle is against him and Muslera easily saves.
The hosts win a free-kick and Seri takes it smartly, feeding in a low ball that Andone meets on the bounce, caressing it towards goal, but Courtois makes another splendid save to deny him.
Belhanda finds some space and then creates a huge chance for Andone, who he slips in behind the Madrid defence. Andone takes it early and makes a good connection, but Courtois is equal to the shot.
A Kroos shot is deflected behind after Galatasaray give the ball away in their own territory, but Muslera takes responsibility and comes out to claim the resulting corner.
Rodrygo nips in before Seri and then rolls the ball to Casemiro, but his compatriot fires over from the edge of the box.
Deafening whistles greet Real Madrid possession.
Rodrygo is in the thick of things immediately, getting behind his marker and sending in a cross that, via a deflection, comes to Hazard. The Belgian mishits his shot into the ground.
The hosts get the game underway.
The players gather together for a pre-game photo with the #EqualGame signs - particularly relevant given recent events.
With kick-off five minutes away, the home fans are in fine voice. The players are in the tunnel.
I've mentioned Rodrygo quite a lot, but this would also be a great time for Hazard to have his coming-out party as a Madrid player. He has one goal in six appearances so far and is yet to show his true powers.
Only two visiting clubs have won at Turk Telekom Stadium in 2019 - PSG and Benfica. However, Galatasaray have only won two of their last 11 home games in this competition.
Galatasaray beat Sivasspor 3-2 last time out, with Florin Andone - who is on loan from Brighton - scoring twice. Ex-Liverpool man Ryan Babel also netted and their team contains a host of one-time Premier League players.
The teams will be in their famous colours tonight.
Both teams kick off on one point, with Real bottom of the group on goal difference. Paris Saint-Germain defeated both of these clubs - Gala 1-0 in Istanbul and Real 3-0 in Paris - and Club Brugge drew with the pair. Brugge host PSG in Group A's other match tonight.
A huge night for him, and a bold selection from Zidane. Rodrygo has only played 43 minutes in La Liga this season. Signed for a reported £38m in the summer, he starred for Santos and will make many readers feel old as he was born in 2001.
Madrid won 6-1 when they last visited Galatasaray. Benzema bagged a brace and Isco also got his name on the scoresheet, while some fellow called Cristiano Ronaldo scored a hat-trick.
It's been a good couple of days for Hazard, who yesterday made the 30-man shortlist for the Ballon d’Or along with Karim Benzema.
Real Madrid make six changes from the team that lost to Mallorca at the weekend. Dani Carvajal and Raphael Varane bolster the defence, Toni Kroos and Fede Valverde come into the midfield and Hazard and 18-year-old Rodrygo freshen up the attack. It’s Rodrygo’s first start for the club and that can either be seen as a huge show of faith or a damning indictment of how little trust Zinedine Zidane has in alternatives Isco, James Rodriguez and Vinicius.
REAL MADRID: Courtois, Carvajal, Ramos, Varane, Marcelo, Casemiro, Valverde, Kroos, Hazard, Rodrygo, Benzema. Subs: Areola, Miltao, James, Jovic, Isco, Mendy, Vinicius.
There’s not a single Turkish player in the hosts’ starting 11. The on-loan Florin Andone leads the line and it looks like they’ll be playing five at the back, with Steven Nzonzi sitting in front of that backline.
GALATASARAY: Muslera, Mariano, Luyindama, Donk, Marcao, Nagatomo, Nzonzi, Seri, Belhhanda, Babel, Andone. Subs: Okan, Sener, Adem, Omer, Feghouli, Mor, Selcuk.
Welcome to live coverage of Real Madrid’s trip to Galatasaray - a crush game for the 13-time champions as they kick off with just one point from two group-stage games so far. This is not an easy place to come - it’s nicknamed ‘Hell’ for a reason - and Madrid suffered a domestic setback at the weekend, although they do have Eden Hazard back after the birth of his fourth child. Who will join him on the pitch? Team news is on the way next...
