Barca are through to the quarter-finals for a 12th straight season!
We had a contest on our hands after Lyon's goal, but Messi soon turned it into a non-contest. Two goals and two assists for the magician, and Barca go into the pot for Friday's draw.
Just two minutes added on.
Elsewhere... Liverpool are through!
Four English teams in the quarter-finals.
- GoalOusmane DembéléFC Barcelona
GOAL! A FIFTH FOR BARCA!
Two goals, and now two assists for Messi, who plays it over for Dembele to fire in a deflected effort. Harsh on Lyon, but it's turning into a rout.
- OffSergi RobertoFC Barcelona
- OnNélson SemedoFC Barcelona
Semedo on now. This one's done and dusted!
- GoalGerard PiquéFC Barcelona
ANOTHER GOAL FOR BARCA!
Pique gets Barca's fourth after joining their attack on a devastating counter. Messi picks him out from nowhere and Pique is there to tap in at the back post.
- GoalLionel MessiFC Barcelona
GOAL MESSI! THAT IS DELIGHTFUL
Gorgelin gets a hand to the effort, but he can't prevent Messi from getting his second of the night after dancing his way through Lyon's defence, sending two defenders the wrong way before shooting. Lovely.
- OffFerland MendyOlympique Lyonnais
- OnMaxwell CornetOlympique Lyonnais
On comes Cornet, final throw of the dice for Lyon.
Barca stuck in third gear at the moment, looking capable of turning on the style if they want to, but look torn on how much they should attack.
- OffArthurFC Barcelona
- OnArturo VidalFC Barcelona
And now it's Vidal for Arthur!
- OffMemphis DepayOlympique Lyonnais
- OnBertrand TraoréOlympique Lyonnais
Depay off, on comes Traore!
- OffPhilippe CoutinhoFC Barcelona
- OnOusmane DembéléFC Barcelona
Moments after Messi appears to be through on goal before cutting back, he sees an effort deflect over.
Before the corner, Coutinho comes off for Dembele.
WIDE! Down the other end, Coutinho rounds Gorgelin, but it's too tight an angle and he can't find the target. Difficult to wrap his foot around that.
HALF CHANCE! Difficult for Depay, on the turn, but he can only scuff an effort from six yards out or so.
JUST OVER! A tough angle for Fekir, but he only fires a whisker over the bar with Ter Stegen worried.
One goal and Lyon are through!
THE GOAL STANDS!
What a long wait, but the goal is rightly given.
What do I know? Answer: nothing. The tie is alive! Or is it???
VAR is having a check to see if there were any fouls inside the area, perhaps offside? What's taking so long!
- GoalLucas TousartOlympique Lyonnais
HANG ON A MINUTE! LYON HAVE SCORED!
I called it mission impossible, but Tousart has bundled the ball home after Barca fail to clear a cross!
Barca step it up a gear and race into the Lyon half, and it takes a vital tackle from Denayer to deny Messi.
Barca play the corner short, but Coutinho is eventually dispossessed.
Different pace to this half, Lyon not exactly giving up but it takes as much energy to close Barca down as it does when you have the ball. Impossible task, it would seem...
Denayer goes down in the box from the resulting free-kick - he's claiming a push from Jordi Alba - VAR has a quick check, but no luck for Lyon.
- Yellow cardClément LengletFC Barcelona
OFF THE LINE! Blistering counter from Barca but Arthur doesn't have the legs or know-how to take it all the way himself - it falls kindly for Messi though, but his chip is cleared off the line by Marcal.
Lenglet goes in the book moments later for a foul on Fekir.
All about game management for Barca this half. They don't have to exert themselves too much, but surely wouldn't mind a third to kill the tie off once and for all.
- 2nd Half
Back under way.
Seen plenty of replays at half-time for the penalty Suarez won for the first goal. It looks more and more conniving with each watch - he even appears to stand on Denayer's foot before going down! But VAR did have a look, and well, here we are.
- End of 1st Half
And there goes the half-time whistle. Barca with one foot and virtually the rest of their body in the quarter-finals. Lyon need two goals*.
Although this poll is still overwhelmingly in Messi's favour...
Barca's front three really have turned up tonight. Coutinho and Suarez have been superb, and no doubt Messi will be grateful to have the pair share the load!
The stoppage to tend to Lopes means there will be SIX minutes added on.
Meanwhile in Munich.......
BIG SAVE! And a big moment for sub goalkeeper Gorgelin too, who gets down to palm away Messi's low effort, which looked destined for the far corner.
Barca firing on all cylinders, a joy to watch when they're in this mood! Fear for Lyon at this rate.
JUST WIDE! Almost the Barca front three clean sweep after just 37 minutes, but Suarez can only fire inches wide after lovely build-up play.
The no longer lesser-seen Panenka...
- OffAnthony LopesOlympique Lyonnais
- OnMathieu GorgelinOlympique Lyonnais
Have to feel for Lopes - he's in tears as he comes off the pitch. He valiantly wanted to continue, but it's the right call to take him off after that clash with Coutinho.
On comes Gorgelin straight into the cauldron.
- Yellow cardMarçalOlympique Lyonnais
Game getting away from Lyon now, who need two goals without reply to quality. Marcal takes his frustrations out on Messi...
- GoalPhilippe CoutinhoFC Barcelona
GOAL BARCELONA! 2-0
And Coutinho taps the ball into the back of the net! Suarez is onside and he takes Lopes out of the equation by playing it over to Coutinho, who has an empty goal to aim for from six yards out. Never missing that.
Lyon's sub goalkeeper Gorgelin still limbering up on the sidelines, he had looked ready to come on at one point during the stoppage - keeping warm just in case, it seems.
SAVE AND THEN OVER! Lopes called into action, and he parries Suarez's effort into the path of Rakitic, who fires his attempt over.
A confusing stoppage in truth. There were numerous medical staff tending to Lopes, the ol' golf cart stretcher was on the pitch ready to take him off, but after some four minutes he is back up.
The referee has a word with one of the medical members of staff too, but Lopes is still on the pitch.
Lopes looks rather shaken as he gets up - it would be a surprise to see him continue, but it looks as though he will!
In the meantime, the cameras cut to Pochettino in the stands, taking notes no doubt with Spurs already in the pot for the last eight.
Lopes still down receiving treatment. Replays unclear as to where he has actually been affected, but I tell a lie, it looks as though he will have to come off...
Lopes looks in a bad way after coming out bravely to deny Coutinho, the Lyon goalkeeper should be okay to continue, but that just gives everyone a chance to catch their breath.
SO CLOSE! Lyon go on the break and find themselves in a 3v3 situation, but it's Clement who makes the vital block to deflect Dembele's effort wide. Almost an immediate reaction from the visitors.
Panenkas are all Panenkas of course, but there was something just so majestic about that Messi penalty, stroking it in with such poise!
- Goal by penaltyLionel MessiFC Barcelona
GOAL! MESSI SCORES FROM THE SPOT!
Messi is made to wait because of VAR... but it's worth the wait...
He dinks in the most delightful of Panenkas to hand Barca the lead.
PENALTY TO BARCELONA!
Denayer catches Suarez and the referee points to the spot.
Step forward Messi...
I did say it was for the cameras . Proof below.
Quality goalkeeping from Lopes, who reads the situation well as Busquets plays a ball over the top for Messi, batting the ball away and preventing a penalty too.
Could have gone so much worse for Lopes.
Lyon have improved in the last few minutes and their game-plan is clear. Soak up the pressure and hit Barca on the counter - will need luck, but it's not impossible.
Messi curls in a free-kick but Lyon just about clear with Pique close to it. A long night ahead for Lyon, but they'll know one goal will leave Barca needing two, if they can venture that far forward!
As I write that they do finally come forward, but Ndombele can only fire wide from distance.
Vital block from Denayer as Rakitic rattles an effort in from the edge of the area. Barca really are knocking on the door here. One. Way. Traffic.
Lyon just calm it down somewhat but Barca are certainly on top.
Another chance for Coutinho to prove himself tonight, and he's free down the left with Suarez to look for in the middle, but his cross is just too close to Lopes.
GOOD SAVE! One for the cameras maybe, but Lopes leaps to his right to palm away Messi's curling shot. Flying start from Barca, and they have another corner... which Lopes punches away.
Clear task for Ndombele in the centre of midfield for Lyon tonight. Stop Messi.
He succeeds first time around.
- 1st Half
And away we go in Barcelona. The hosts looking to reach the quarters for the 12th straight season, Lyon for the first time since 2010!
And of course there is another mammoth clash in Europe tonight. Also locked at 0-0, Bayern Munich host Liverpool in the return leg… promises to be a cracker, and you can follow the below.
The teams are out at the Nou Camp. After witnessing the Cristiano Ronaldo show last night, who will take centre stage here? We’re about to find out.
Another draw would do for Lyon tonight! They have drawn each of their last six Champions League games, equalling the record for most consecutive draws in a single UCL season held by AEK Athens (2002/03) and Rangers (2005/06).
Barca v Lyon at the Nou Camp… Barcelona have won all three of their home matches against Lyon in the Champions League, scoring 10 goals and conceding only two.
No denying it’s a tall order for Lyon, they have lost seven of their last nine knockout games away from home, including the last four without scoring, too.
Barca, meanwhile, have won 26 of their last 29 home games in Europe, drawing the other three.

Evening all. Welcome along to the live text coverage for this finely-poised Champions League last-16 second leg tie between Barcelona and Lyon.
It was a goalless draw back in France a few weeks ago, making it winner-takes-all tonight, while a score draw would also see Lyon through.
Barca will be favourites, but this is no foregone conclusion, particularly given the results we’ve seen in the knockouts already.
Now let’s take a look at the teams…
