Érdi Jr relishing home ERC counter
Tibor Érdi Jr, the provisional double ERC2 champion, can’t wait for his native Hungary to host a round of the FIA European Rally Championship in 2019.
Rally Hungary is on the next season’s planned calendar, which is subject to FIA World Motor Sport Council approval and dependent on the event passing the governing body’s inspection, which was carried out when the event ran as the Nyíregyháza Rally last weekend.
“I heard that Nyíregyháza was preparing for hosting a European championship race and I thought it is a must-do opportunity,” said Érdi Jr, who was in action on the all-Tarmac rally in his recently-acquired ŠKODA Fabia R5. “It is also important that if next year the ERC is held in Nyíregyháza we know the stages that matter.”
