Niklas Edin insists his fourth World Championship gold is the sweetest win of his career after the skip led Sweden to victory against hosts Canada.

Canada had led 2-1 after five ends following a tentative start but the Olympic champions rebounded strongly, with Edin levelling the scores at 2-2 after a measured stone.

And then the skip came into his own, with Sweden stealing two points in the eight end and a further three in the ninth to wrap up another title alongside Oskar Eriksson, second player Rasmus Wrana, and lead Christoffer Sundgren.

"It feels amazing," he said.

"This was probably the sweetest win of my career. We've never played better than this for an event, it felt like we were dominating the whole week.

"Then we struggled at the start of this game and then we were trailing the whole game. Then we got that extra two minutes to think about that shot [in the eighth end].

"I didn't really like that and I'm really glad I made the shot. Then I just walked away to the toilet and when I got back, I saw that we stole two.

"From there it never felt that we were going to lose this game."

Switzerland saw off Japan 8-4 to win their third bronze medal in five years following previous success in 2014 and 2017.
