A short movie plenty of action was shown to introduce WTCC to hundredths of guests that included NASCAR team owners, drivers and sponsors. Then Steve Page, President of Sonoma’s Infineon Raceway, called the three drives on the stage and asked them a few questions about their feeling to race in the States and their first impressions of the racetrack.

Later on Tarquini, Monteiro and Nash were asked to pose for souvenir pictures by a number of guests.

And a group of 20 American media representatives had their first contact with a WTCC car at Sonoma’s Infineon Raceway today, enjoying rides in a SEAT León car driven by Tarquini and Monteiro.

The media hot laps session kicked off immediately after the end of the qualifying for the NASCAR Toyota Save Mart 350 that takes place on Sunday.

Tarquini was the first to take the wheel of the car that sported a special livery to promote the WTCC Race of USA on 23 September.

The Italian racer completed a couple of recognition laps with Monteiro in the passenger’s seat. They drove on the same track layout used by the NASCAR drivers, while the WTCC cars will race on the full road course in September.

After this brief shake down, Tarquini and Monteiro took turns at the wheel, sharing the guests who were all excited by the experience.
