After two full days of competition at the fourth event on this year's ASP World Tour, conditions deteriorated and organisers were forced to make the call.
"There’s not much on offer out there today and we’ve called an official lay day for the Volcom Fiji Pro," Matt Wilson, Volcom Fiji Pro event director, said.
There was hope for better conditions later in the week though.
"The swell charts are showing significant activity for later in the week so we’re confident that we’ll have waves to run in," Wilson added.
"That said, we’ll be back tomorrow morning to assess conditions and make another call then."
