Pirelli: New tyres for WSBK in 2013

The Diablo tyres will be 17" rather than the current 16.5" tyres, which are already used in several national Superbike championships.

The new tyres, Pirelli claim, will increase responsiveness without requiring manufacturers to modify the bike chassis, as well as offer a thicker tread for improved handling and consistency.

Pirelli, sole suppliers of World Superbike tyres, will aim to transfer the knowledge from their race tyres to the general bike market.
