Trump edged out Wuxi Classic finalist Stuart Bingham 6-4 in his last 32 match before defeating Iranian player Hossein Vafaei Ayouri next 6-1.
Wuxi Classic winner Ricky Walden continued his strong form as victories over Jimmy White and Joe Perry secured him his place in the last eight.
