Christie followed up on her bronze over 1500m with a silver in her favourite 1000m event, finishing just two tenths of a second behind Korean winner Seung-Hi Park.

Scot Christie, 22, is certainly in the podium habit this season and leads the overall World Cup standings over 1000m, with five of her seven top-three finishes coming over the distance.

However, there was disappointment for the British men's relay quartet of Jon Eley, Paul Stanley, Jack Whelbourne and Richard Shoebridge.

After progressing to the four team final, they seemed to get their tactics spot on, staying out of trouble and always in the medal spots.

But a crash just six laps from the finish of the 5,000m race left them fourth while Russia took line honours ahead of Holland and Canada.

Elsewhere, China's Fan Kexin won the women's 500m while team-mate Wu Dajing claimed the men's event over the sprint distance.

Two-time Olympic gold medallist Charles Hamelin won the men's 1000m while favourites China were successful in the women's 3000m relay.
