Bikes: Casteu halves Pain's lead after stage five

Olivier Pain kept the overall lead of the Dakar Rally as he finished second behind fellow French motorcyclist David Casteu on stage five between Arequipa and Arica.

Casteu set a time of an hour 39 minutes 42 seconds, 1:09 faster than Pain and 3:25 than Alessandro Botturi.

Casteu is now 1:15 behind fellow Yamaha rider Pain overall with KTM's Cyril Despres 6:07 off the pace after finishing fourth on the stage.

With 25 riders within an hour of the leader, the bike standings are remaining compact.
