The Potters Fields London 2012 Live Site will give fans a chance to soak up the Olympic spirit right in the heart of the host city, on the banks of the River Thames, for the duration of the Games from 28th July to 12th August.
As part of LOCOG’s ‘Join In’ campaign the Live Sites aim to give local residents and tourists alike a chance to become part of the Olympic experience and gather together to follow the action live on giant screens.
The Opening and Closing Ceremonies (on 27th July and 12th August), the final of the men’s football tournament (11th August) and the men’s 100m final (5th August) will be amongst the highlights and are sure to create a vibrant atmosphere within the Potter Fields park, where fans can also enjoy refreshments and take in the spectacular view of London’s famous Tower Bridge.
Of course there will be further celebrations at Olympic ‘Live Sites’ in numerous other locations across London, including Hyde Park, Trafalgar Square, Victoria Park, Waltham Forest and Woolwich, and the rest of the UK in city centres and beyond – with Birmingham, Edinburgh, Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle and Plymouth amongst the cities joining the London 2012 party.
