But the former Bari, Roma, Real Madrid and Sampdoria forward returned to action in recent weeks, capping a remarkable recovery that has seen him enter Prandelli’s reckoning, if not that of Panini.
"In my personal Euro 2012 album, Cassano is there," the Italy coach told TV programme Le Iene.
Cassano’s return is a welcome boost for Prandelli, shorn of creative options up front after Giuseppe Rossi was ruled out of the finals with a recurrence of his knee injury, not to mention the continuing disciplinary problems of Mario Balotelli.
