Bjarnason loaned to Pescara

Pescara have signed Iceland midfielder Birkir Bjarnason on loan for next season, Standard Liege announced.

Bjarnason, 24, has also played for Viking Stavanger and Bodo/Glimt.

The deal was announced on the Standard website.

Pescara, promoted from Serie B last season, are widely expected to lose teenage playmaker Marco Verratti to one of Europe's top clubs this summer.
