The Colombian's agent Marelo Ferreyra has confirmed that Roma have shown an interest in his man, but are not keen on paying the €30 million (26.5m) release fee that is in his contract.
It has been suggested that Porto are happy to let him go though as they are thought to be lining up Steven Defour of Standard Liege as a replacement, and Ferreyra believes an offer of less than the release clause could be enough to secure his services.
The agent told calciomercatoweb: "The interest from Roma exists. We wait until Giallorossi make an official offer and also to know the intentions of Porto.
"Is the club is willing to let the player go? If they get a good offer, I think so.
"He has a release clause of €30m, but if the interest is serious and concrete he can also leave for a lower figure.
"But I don't think €10m would be enough."
