FULL TIME: AFC Wimbledon 2 Plymouth Argyle 0. They have done it! It’s a weird and wonderful world if you’re from Wimbledon. What a journey.

90+8'

GOAL! And Akinfenwa does clinch it for Wimbledon, slotting into the bottom corner.

90+7'

PENALTY! Wimbledon break and Azeez is fouled in the box by Forster. A way to finish it in style.

90+6'

CHANCE! Taylor through on goal. A marvellous chance but he opts to pull the trigger far too early. Was that an attempted lob? Geoff Thomas effort! He comes off to be replaced by Azeez. Time almost up...

90+5'

A comfortable claim by Roos from Mellor’s cross and the Dons edge closer.

90+4'

Still Wimbledon attack but Taylor loses the ball. Plymouth finding it hard to mount attacks. Tanner goes down in the box and half of the stadium cry for a penalty. Nothing doing..

90+3'

A foul on Charles gets Wimbledon out of a hole as he goes up for a header and clashes with keeper Roos. Plymouth fans don’t like it.

90+2'

Wimbledon still doing a good job of keeping the ball and they’ll have to. More good defending from Mellor to deny Akinfenwa a chance.

90+1'

There will be SEVEN additional minutes!

90'

SAVE! Great cross from Taylor to Akinfenwa and his header is tipped over the bar by McCormick!

89'

Shot from Taylor from distance goes just wide but more time eaten up.

88'

Great strength to hold off Akinfenwa in the box as the big man tries to settle matters.

87'
-
86'

Whatever happens, we will have about five additional minutes here. Still plenty of time for Plymouth.

85'

Hartley is stretchered off to be replaced by Forster.

84'

It was the way he fell, his back landing on Akinfenwa’s knee. Totally unintentional.

83'

John Green watches on in the crowd. Hartley really struggling on the deck after running into Akinfenwa.

-
82'

Plymouth sub: Reid on for Wylde.

81'

SAVE! Fuller storms forward on the break and it takes a good save from McCormick to keep him out.

80'

That is the 23rd goal that Taylor has scored this season.

79'

A fantastic finish but a poor decision from Mellor to go with his head. Taylor booked for his celebration.

78'

GOAL WIMBLEDON! It’s crossed back into the danger zone by Kennedy and flicked home by Lyle Taylor as Mellor slips!

77'

Can ‘The Beast’ make a big difference? If he does, he will send Wimbledon up.

76'

Wimbledon sub: Akinfenwa comes on to replace Elliot.

74'

Barcham looks like he will try to run off whatever it was that was bothering him.

73'

End to end stuff. Danny Bulman creating chances up one end before getting a crucial block in at the other. Barcham down for Wimbledon.

72'

A decent crowd in for this one.

71'

The big man Akinfenwa making some runs on the touchline. An impact player if ever there was one.

70'

Starting to get into the territory where a goal could settle this one. Especially as neither side has looked like scoring.

69'

AFC Wimbledon sub: Meades comes on to replace Smith.

68'

Plymouth sub: Tanner comes on for Jervis.

67'

Yellow card for Charles for a foul on Matt.

66'

Plymouth starting to get a little foothold. Another free kick swung in from Carey and finds Hartley free at the back post but a really poor header into the floor again easy for Roos.

65'

That’s the first time either keeper has been stretched in the match but it was one for the cameras.

64'

Now Jervis hits the deck and Plymouth have a dangerous free kick. Carey territory… He does hit it and Roos makes a decent save.

63'

Barcham seeing a lot of the ball. He cuts in from the left onto his right foot but shoots well over. Getting closer though.

62'

Fuller caught late by Wylde and he is shown the first yellow card of the game.

61'

Wimbledon break and Bulman gets in behind Sawyer but a good recovery from Hartley sees off the danger.

59'

A poor foul by Smith on Carey but he escapes with just a talking to. In comes the free kick from Carey, easily dealt with.

58'
57'

SHOTS: Wimbledon 7-3 Plymouth

-
56'

Barcham goes down just outside the box and he wants a penalty. Nothing doing but Wimbledon are starting to put some life into this final as Elliot heads Taylor's cross over the bar.

55'

Dangerous cross from Barcham and it needs a good block from Mellor. Wimbledon have a corner. Kennedy takes but Plymouth clear.

54'

Kelvin Mellor bursts a beach ball with his boot. The crowd enjoyed that. Most excitement for a while.

53'

Now Barcham steals ahead of Elliot but can’t get and power or direction on his header and it’s well wide.

52'

Wimbledon are trying to get something going. Kennedy’s cross easily claimed by McCormick.

51'

Nothing yet to suggest the tempo has been elevated from that stagnant opening half from either side. Cross from Bulman easily cut out.

50'

POSSESSION: Wimbledon 43%-57% Plymouth

49'

Reeves with the delivery and Kennedy shoots well wide when Jervis’ header falls to him.

48'

Almost an embarrassing clearance from McHugh that he slices just wide of his own keeper!

47'

Jervis closing in and nearly gets on the end of a cross. He lands awkwardly but seems okay.

46'

Back underway here at Wembley. In truth, it has been an awful match. Something has to change otherwise it has penalties written all over it. No changes for either side.

HALF TIME: AFC Wimbledon 0 Plymouth Argyle 0. Not a classic so far…

45'

Just the one additional minute at the end of this opening half.

44'
43'

Bulman gets free at the far post and it’s a free header but again, easy for McCormick. Wimbledon have probably edged this half.

42'

It's a tight affair with much resting on it. The Pilgrims can return to the third tier for the first time since 2011, while AFC Wimbledon are looking to reach the third division of the pyramid having been in the seventh tier in 2007-08.

41'
40'

A first attempt on target in the match from Kennedy but easily kept out by McCormick.

-
39'

Zero attempts on target for either side. Nobody really winning that midfield battle.

-

Further apologies for an ongoing technical problem in the system for our live updates. The technicians are on it.

27'

This time the free kick going against Elliot but he’s making a real nuisance of himself.

26'
25'

Perhaps not totally expected but Wimbledon having the better of it. Smith’s shot blocked on the edge of the box.

24'

CLOSE! Free kick to Wimbledon. Kennedy looks for Elliot and he heads back across goal and it needs a good clearance from Mellor to put it behind for a corner.

23'

Lyle Taylor looking the biggest threat in this game so far but far from the pulsating Millwall v Barnsley clash yesterday. Yet…

22'

Now Taylor almost steals in ahead of McCormick from a long ball over the top from Elliot. He catches the keeper slightly but nothing in that really.

21'

Jarvis skips away from Kennedy but his final ball is lacking and too easy for Roos.

20'

STAT: Plymouth have reached the play-off final just once before, winning 1-0 against Darlington in the 1996 Third Division final. That was Plymouth's only ever visit to Wembley.

19'
18'

We’ve had some technical issues here but we’re back up and running. The good news? No goals and no clear chances since we’ve been away!

7'

Elliot clattered by Nelson. No card but a free kick to Wimbledon. A physical battle developing already. Launched forward and it drops dangerously in the box before McCormick grabs it.

4'

Cross from Wylde but just too long for Jarvis to keep it alive. Cagey start.

-
3'

Wimbledon not afraid to launch long balls early, trying to release the pace of Elliot behind the Argyle centre backs.

2'

Wimbledon setting up 4-4-2 with Elliot and Taylor up front, Plymouth 4-2-3-1 with Matt the lone striker. Some scenes prior to kick-off as Wimbledon embraced in a huddle, whilst Plymouth ran to applaud their fans.

1'

KICK-OFF! The whistle blows to get us underway here. Can AFC Wimbledon rise to League One for the first time ever of will Argyle make it back for the first time since 2011? We’ll know the answer over the next 90 minutes, or after extra time and penalties, if required!

-

A reminder of today's teams.

14.55

FIVE MINUTES TO KICK-OFF: The teams are on the pitch and the pre-match ceremonies, including the national anthem are underway. All the action is next.

-
-
14.50

TEN MINUTES TO KICK-OFF: These two sides have already met three times this season, sharing an away win each in League Two and with Plymouth winning 3-2 in the Football League Trophy at AFC Wimbledon.

14.45
14.40

In three of the last six seasons in League Two, the team promoted via the playoffs has finished seventh, while only one team who finished fifth has gone up in that time (Southend last season).

-
14.35

Plymouth have reached the play-off final just once before, winning 1-0 against Darlington in the 1996 Third Division final. That was Plymouth's only ever visit to Wembley. Not only is this AFC Wimbledon's first experience of the Football League play-offs, it will also be their first competitive match at Wembley.

14.30
-
14.25

The Dons ended their season strongly, six victories in their final eight matches ensuring they finished seventh in the table. They are playing their first competitive match at Wembley. Plymouth are looking to end a five-year stay in League Two and ended the season fifth, four points off the automatic promotion places.

14.20

Derek Adams (via BBC Radio Devon): "It's a play-off final and we've got to win the game to get to the league above us and we can't forget about that. It's not just another game, it's an important game for Plymouth Argyle. We've taken a fantastic support with us, there's going to be nearly 35,000 there which is a fantastic effort for the people of Plymouth."

-
14.15

Wimbledon are attempting to reach the third tier for the first time since their formation in 2002. They began life in the ninth tier of English football but reached the Football League in 2011 after winning five promotions in nine years. Can they continue the fairytale rise?

-
14.10

Neal Ardley (via BBC Radio London): "I don't think there is much between the two teams. Would Plymouth deserve to be slight favourites? I think probably so. I used to watch managers lead their teams out at Wembley and I thought 'wow'. That was something I always hoped I'd do and to do it three and a half years into my first managerial job is fantastic. We are there to win the game and try to get promoted. From my point of view I want to take it all in. I am going to try to take it in and play my part in helping the players. It is not going to be easy as there will be edgy moments all the way through."

14.05

And here's how The Dons line up today.
