League Two leaders Northampton saw their winning run end in a goalless stalemate at struggling Hartlepool.

The home side enjoyed the better of the chances against a Cobblers team who went into the game having won a club-record 10 straight league matches. Winger Nathan Thomas spurned the best of them as he sent a free header over the crossbar.

Second-placed Plymouth took advantage to trim the gap at the top to 10 points with a 1-0 win against Notts County.

The only goal came early in the second half when a Gregg Wylde cross eventually found Graham Carey and he reacted quickly to fire home.

Oxford kept up the pressure on the top two with a 2-1 victory at AFC Wimbledon.

Danny Hylton capitalised on a goalmouth scramble to open the scoring for the U's in the fifth minute.

The home side levelled after 33 minutes through Andy Barcham but Jordan Bowery won it for Oxford on the hour when he latched on to Benjamin Buchel's long kick, powered past a defender and smashed in from the edge of the area.

Accrington threw away a two-goal lead to draw 2-2 at home to Barnet.

Billy Kee broke the deadlock for fourth-placed Stanley in the 57th minute and Matt Crooks drilled in a second after 74 minutes.

But Luke Gambin offered Barnet hope with a close-range finish 10 minutes later and t he fightback was complete when John Akinde headed an equaliser in time added on.

At the bottom, there was late drama at Bootham Crescent as York slipped to a 3-2 defeat against Luton.

Cameron McGeehan's header - his 12th goal of the season - put Luton in front in the 52nd minute, but t he Minstermen levelled 10 minutes later when a poor backpass from Stephen O'Donnell was intercepted by Bradley Fewster and he slotted in.

O'Donnell redeemed himself with a superb cross to the back post for Jack Marriott to put Luton back in front, only for Fewster to equalise again.

There was heartbreak for York at the death as Olly Lee's solo effort snatched victory.

Rock-bottom Dagenham were beaten again as fellow strugglers Yeovil claimed a 1-0 win through Brandon Goodship's clipped finish.

Portsmouth moved into the play-off places with a 2-1 victory over Cambridge.

Marc McNulty lashed in the opener and d efender Adam Webster poked home a second after 62 minutes, with Luke Berry's 90th-minute strike a consolation for Cambridge.

Armand Gnanduillet scored two stunning goals as Leyton Orient ran out 2-0 winners against Crawley, Luke O'Nien's late goal earned Wycombe a 1-0 win against Bristol Rovers, and Jayden Stockley's late double secured Exeter a 2-0 win at Stevenage.

Two goals in as many second-half minutes snatched Carlisle a 2-1 win at Morecambe.

Kevin Ellison put the Shrimps in front with a cool finish but Charlie Wyke levelled for Carlisle from the penalty spot with seven minutes remaining.

The turnaround was completed 60 seconds later as Derek Asamoah tapped in after more good work from Wyke.

Scott Boden's 86th-minute strike gave Newport a 1-0 win against Mansfield.
