Seven players miss the Champions League final between Bayern Munich and Chelsea through suspension - how important will their absence be?

We asked stats aces Opta to crunch some numbers for both teams with and without their missing players in the Champions League this season.

Although it seems no individual will be missed too badly, the sample size of matches without the players in question was too small to draw any firm conclusions.

However, it is striking just how many games the seven suspended players have featured in.

Between them, the seven have notched up 69 appearances out of a possible 84 - that's an 82% selection rate.

Raul Meireles has the most appearances this season, having played in all but one of Chelsea's matches this season. Five players have made 10 appearances.

The suspended players for each team are as follows:

Bayern Munich: Holger Badstuber, David Alaba, Luiz Gustavo.

Chelsea: John Terry, Branislav Ivanovic, Raul Meireles, Ramires.
