NIGERIA SUB: Confusion as Musa comes off in the end as Emenike stays on.
Emeneke has been booked either for dissent or time wasting, which would make no sense. Must be dissent. He comes off for Uche anyway.
Outrageous penalty under pressure from the keeper Mweene, strolling up and rifling it top right. Casual.
What a strange penalty decision from the referee - it looks outside the box, and both were holding each other's shirts. The GOALKEEPER IS TAKING IT! Mweene likes a penalty - and he buries it into the top right!
PENALTY ZAMBIA! Osazi with a foul on Mayuka, according to the ref but it was a. outside the box and b. didn't look a foul at all!
Mbesuma with a good pass this time to send Mayuka through but his low cross-shot is cleared by Oboabona.
TERRIBLE FINISH FROM MBESUMA! Surely Kabala was offside but the flag stays down - and he finds Mbesuma unmarked 12 yards out and he lazily sidefoots it at the keeper! Deary me!
I say that and then Zambia have men over on the break - but a poor cross from Kalaba fails to clear the first man.
Zambia look to have run out of ideas - they'll need something special now, and to get men forward.
NIGERIA SUB: Moses is replaced by Brown.
Mulenga with a shot from range but straight at Enyeama.
NIGERIA SUB: Nosa comes off for Obiora.
Onazi with a long-range effort that takes a touch off a defender and flies over for a corner.

Down the other end Musa cold be in here but Kalaba challenges and it's a throw.
BRILLIANT SAVE ENYEAMA! Super break by Zambia that sees Kalaba put himself through with a superb flick, but the keeper makes himself big to block. Probably would have scored with a lower finish to the right.
Mbesuma with an ambitious effort from a long way out which lands well wide.
Musa is harshly booked for flying into a defender, Sunzu, when the ball bounced very high. Odd. Perhaps he said something.

Cool header back to Enyeama by Onazi. Nigeria are playing well now.

GOAL NIGERIA! Given away by Lungu, who seemed to slip, and Mikel feeds Emenike, who turns and fires a low drive past the keeper and in! Great finish, bottom left.

Much better from Nigeria early in the second half - they are taking the game to Zambia!
Mikel threads it in for Emenike, but Musonda blocks and takes a whack on the back in the process.
Had this been a proper pitch - which is inexcusable given this is South Africa and not one of the poorer nations - that woulod have been a goal. The final bounce took it off Emenike's toes. Musa got his shot all wrong though.
Cleared by Nigeria and they counter attack with Musa racing clear down the right - and a low cross-shot across the face of goal but it bounces away from Emenike and wide! Could have been a tap-in!
Free-kick to Zambia on the right wing...
The second half is underway!
Half-time and it's goalless - but Nigeria have missed a penalty!
Kalaba with a fine piece of skill to race away down the left, his cross just misses Mayuka but Chansa is free on the right only to ping a low ball straight at Enyeama. Poor finish to a promising counter.
Moses cuts inside from the left but his shot is blocked by Sunzu. One minute added time.
It has all gone a bit scrappy, although you can hardly blame these teams - who have tried to play football, but are hampered by a surface that looks like one of those sandy half-grass pitches you get in run-down urban areas.
Another long ball - which is a wider pattern developing because of the poor pitch - almost sends Emenike through.
The flag is up on Katongo as he gets on to a long ball.
Heavy tackle by Chansa on Musa after the Nigeria man dithers on the ball. An overly harsh shoulder charge.

Nosa wins a corner with a low drive that is blocked behind by Nkausu.
Echiejele dithers and almost loses out to Lungu, but the Zambia man had an arm wrapped around him and concedes a free-kick.
Mayuka gives willing chase to another ball down he left but Oboabona clears to touch for a throw.
Enyeama then claims the corner, and the follow up ball after a team-mate gives it away.

Nkausu brings down Musa and it's a penalty! Musa's turn on the right side of the box left the defender for dead, and he left his boot in to trip him clearly.

Still with Nigeria as Emenike's attempted shot is blockd, the ball almost squeezing in for Echiejele on the overlap but Zambia are able to clear.
Mikel with a through-ball for Emenike, who rolls his marker but is shunted down the left wing.
Pretty open game so far - and higher in quality than others at this tournament!

Nigeria were also held 1-1 by less feted opposition in their first match, Burkina Faso in this case, who scored a late equaliser. Ambrose is suspended after he was sent off in that match, with Omeruo starting in defence in his place. Moses also gets a start, the Chelsea man coming in for Brown.
Zambia, the defending champions, make two changes from the 1-1 draw with Ethiopia. Mbola comes in at centre-back for Himoonde, while Mbesuma - who scored in that match but was otherwise disappointing - makes way for Southampton striker Mayuka.
