Movistar's Giovanni Visconti won the Klasika Primavera de Amorebieta in Spain.

Visconti's team-mate Alejandro Valverde came second as the pair held off Euskaltel-Euskadi's Igor Anton in a three-man sprint for the line.

Two more Movistar riders, David Lopez and Angel Ruiz, took the next two spots some four and six seconds back respectively after the leading eight riders finished clear of the peloton.

Visconti's victory denied Valverde a fourth victory in the race, the Spaniard having won the race in 2003, 2004 and 2009.
