Cunego to lead Lampre's Tour challenge

Damiano Cunego and Alessandro Petacchi are the big names on Lampre's nine-man team list for the Tour de France.

Cunego, winner of the 2004 Giro d'Italia, will be competing in his third Tour de France and looking to improve on a best finish of 11th in the overall standings.

Petacchi, a veteran at 37 years of age, will be looking to supply stage wins for the team, with a total of six stage victories to his name on the Tour de France.

The Italian-based team features five Italian riders, in addition to a Slovenian, Ukrainian, German and a Swiss.

The Tour de France begins on July 2.
