Diminutive Italian climber Domenico Pozzovivo has joined Ag2r-La Mondiale.

The 29-year-old, who won a stage and finished eighth on GC at this year's Giro d'Italia, has signed a two-year deal.

He is the latest signing for the French team who have already recruited Carlos Alberto Betancur (from Acqua & Sapone), Davide Appollonio (Sky), Steve Chainel, Yauheni Hutarovich (both FDJ-BigMat) and Samuel Dumoulin (Cofidis).

Pozzovivo has spent his entire professional career riding for Italian Pro Continental teams: Ceramica Panaria - Navigare, CSF Group - Navigare and Colnago - CSF Inox - all incarnations of squads managed by Bruno Reverberi.
