England defeated Ireland by 51 runs in Saturday's women's Twenty20 international at The National Cricket Performance Centre at Loughborough.

Charlotte Edwards hit an unbeaten 72 from 61 balls as England scored 136 for four from their 20 overs.

Despite a 47-run opening partnership by Claire Shillington and Cecilia Joyce, Ireland's innings lost momentum in the second half of their innings and they finished on 85 for five.
